Non-existing Woman II, 2015, painted clothing labels and pins, 223 x 187 cm

This is an image of a woman created entirely in a digital environment using CGI technology. She has no name, identity card, or counterpart in real life. She is merely a disembodied form of beauty. The work represents the transformation of female identity into an objectified notion of “beauty” and the attempt to strip womanhood of its meaning and substance. More broadly, it emphasises how, within contemporary perception, simulation can become more influential than reality itself.
