Monte Grigio, 2017, Acrylic and oil on linen, 335 x 160 x 70 cm

Visual perception, or the full spectrum of sensory perception, constitutes the principal parameters of my production process. In the work titled Monte Grigio, the repetition of the brushstroke, a central element of the Impressionist period, forms the work’s primary context. The repetition of individual, saturated strokes gradually constructs a process representing the perception of light, layer by layer, like a landscape. As the scale of the brushstrokes increases, the viewer’s physical and haptic perception intensifies accordingly.
