Ottoman’s Soup Series, 2015, fine art print on metal box, 35 x 50 cm
The “Ottoman’s Soup” Series offers a political and historical critique of the idea that everything is a copy of something else. Regardless of the state or nation in question, all societies are compelled to resemble one another through their systems of governance. These replicated systems of power share a single objective: exploitation. The cans refer to Andy Warhol’s soup cans while also addressing the way in which everything—including political systems and ideological theories—becomes a copy of something else.
